Asheville has been home to me and my family for over twenty years. I consider being a plumber in Asheville a privilege and I am grateful to my community for the loyalty and support that has provided us with the opportunity to create a secure and happy environment for our children and to experience success in my chosen profession. As a plumber serving the Asheville community for over twenty years, I have encountered many situations of customer dissatisfaction with the services provided by plumbing companies. I have often found this to be the result of poor workmanship, and poor communication. To avoid these situations I always recommend the following inquires when choosing which plumber or plumbing company to hire. 1) Does the company hold an active and current NC Plumbing license for the work to be performed 2) Does the company hold the appropriate privilege license to operate the business 3) Is the company properly insured for liability and if applicable for workers compensation 4) Will the work be performed and or inspected by a licensee 5) What is the company's warranty policy for workmanship and for materials provided 6) How does the company charge for the services (flat rate or hourly), what are the billing rates and payment options. In asking for this information up front you are much more likely to have a good experience and filter out undesirable contractors and unlicensed companies or individuals. Any legitimate contractor will be happy you asked and willing to provide this information. How does A Good Plumber llc answer these questions? 1) Yes. I hold an active, current NC Class 1 Plumbing license # 16734. 2) Yes. Our privilege licenses are current. 3) We are fully insured as required by NC. 4) All work performed by A Good Plumber is done either by myself as the licensee of the company or is directly supervised and inspected by me. 5) All of our work carries a minimum 2 year workmanship warranty. Products we provide are covered by our Plus 1 warranty and we offer options for extended warranties on all products. 6) A Good Plumber llc provides service on an hourly rate basis and or by provided written estimates for contracted work. Our hourly rate is $95 for the first hour of service ($75 labor rate with $20 fleet fee), and $75 per hour thereafter, billed on the quarter hour. We do not charge overtime or additional fees for after hours work when scheduled in advance. In an effort to provide the best possible customer experience we do things a little differently these days. I believe there are things every homeowner should know about their home. I am often dismayed to here how much someone had paid a plumber to perform a service or repair that they could have done themselves. In an effort to educate homeowners I provide learning opportunities in a hands on environment that educates community members on basic plumbing repairs and offers information that can save you thousands of dollars in unnecessary and avoidable expenses. We are fortunate to live in an area of astounding grace and beauty. Very few, if any places on earth provide the environmental diversity we experience everyday. In an effort to improve my ability and help bring awareness to our community I have acquire environmental literacy training that allows me the unique opportunity to provide services and education that encourage sustainable community growth. I am a certified regional trainer for GreenPlumbers USA/IAPMO Environmental Literacy Core Curriculum Series. This program is recognized internationally as one of the most important Plumbing Education Curriculum's in the world.
